Known on the music scene as Iamchosen, Ibrahim is one of the individuals blessed with an array of talents, from singing to songwriting to self-recording and mixing down his music.
His real name is Ibrahim Iddrisu, Iamchosen was born and raised in the the Greater Accra Metropolis and has travelled to a select few of the 12 regions of Ghana, where he either lived growing up, schooled or both. It is as a result of his travelling that he cultivated the habit of learning languages as a way of being able to communicate with the inhabitants of whichever region he finds himself in.
As such, Iamchosen is multilingual and uses these languages/dialects in the expression of his musical artistry. After all, he is a creative natural when it comes to making music, aside also doubling up as a graphic designer, singer, songwriter, and recording and mixing engineer, among many of his other undiscovered and unnamed talents.
From making music as a hobby to now taking it more seriously, Iamchosen started putting out commercial music in the 2020 pandemic era.
Since then, he has been consistent in dropping singles and a couple of freestyle music as the years have rolled by. Although he has been writing and recording since 2010, Iamchosen (or Chosen, as he is affectionately referred to by his peers in music) is always excited to experiment with new music genres from time to time. He has grown familiar with some of the popular genres of today’s music but chooses to focus more on his ability to create both hip-hop and Rhythm and Blues (R&B) songs.
He occasionally delves into soul and, more recently, Afrobeat/Afro-Swing and Afro Fusion as well, experimenting with other genres in the music categories of dancehall, ballads, pop, and others. A more recent proof of his experimentation with the music genres is his latest song titled “Forever,” currently available on all music streaming platforms. “Forever” is composed of a seamless blend of English and two indigenous African languages (Twi and Dagbani), creating a unique and captivating sound. It tells yet another tale of love, fused with an alluring cultural touch which adds depth and richness to the melody. Authenticity meets a heartfelt delivery by Iamchosen.
